A holiday park outside Norwich was adding EV charging across its lodge accommodation to meet rising guest demand. Twelve chargers in total: ten 7kW lodge-side and two 50kW rapid units at the central reception area.
The park stayed open throughout the works — guest experience was the headline constraint.
What the job involved
- Sub-mains from the park's existing distribution to each lodge cluster.
- 180m of LV cable pulled across both grass and tarmac sections.
- Two 50kW rapid charger feeders run to the reception car park.
- Lodge-side terminations into existing meter cabinets with new MCB protection.
- Reinstatement to mixed grass / tarmac surfaces with no visible scarring.
Key challenges
- Park operational throughout — only one access road for plant.
- Lodge guests changing every Friday — works scheduled to avoid changeover days.
- Buried foul drainage routes had to be carefully avoided in two locations.
Outcome
- All twelve chargers live before the Easter peak.
- Zero guest complaints across the four-week install.
- Operator engaged us for sister sites in Suffolk and Lincolnshire.
Holiday park guests notice everything. They didn't notice us, and that's exactly what we wanted.
